The abandoned cub was in dire need of help – he was saved by a random passer-by whose heart fluttered when he saw him. From this meeting began a great story of an unusual friendship…
Sometimes true friends find each other completely by accident. Some time ago, a man named Eric noticed a tiny animal on the street. The thumb-sized mouse, apparently abandoned by its mother, was fighting for its life. She looked so helpless that it made Eric’s heart flutter, he just couldn’t pass her by.
The man took her in his arms and a wonderful adventure began. Molly Bean, as the rescuer named the mouse, looked only a few days old: not even her fur had grown properly and her eyes were still closed. Eric didn’t know what to do. First, he had no experience and did not know how to care for mice. Second, for newborn mice! He immediately went online and read about how, what and how often to feed these animals. The mouse had to eat every 2-3 hours, so it had to get up even at night. Eric diluted a special mixture and then fed the animal from a syringe.
Molly Bean quickly got used to human hands. She was dozing either in Eric’s hands or on her neck under his thick beard. The man felt a special responsibility: he saved the mouse from inevitable death, took it from the street and now it was completely dependent on him, trusted him, attached itself. He had to do everything to keep her alive and happy in his home. Sometimes Eric would get up in the night between feedings to make sure Molly Bean was okay.
The mouse grew, grew stronger and began to show character. She turned out to be possessive and never left Eric’s side: she would hide under his shirt, climb under his beard, sit on his arms or shoulder. Molly Bean turned out to be a very active, cheerful and cheerful creature. The caring owner even gave her a small bright skirt. “My little princess” that’s what Eric calls her. Over time, it became clear that Molly Bean needed to communicate with members of her own kind, and the man bought a second mouse – a white one. They race around the corral and play hide and seek. Eric has created a comfortable and interesting space for pets: he has installed a running wheel, a toy car, a ladder and climbing supports. Eric placed the mice in his beauty salon. Tamed Molly Bean loves interacting with customers and thanks for the treats.
Sometimes the husband takes Molly Bean for a walk. At first he was afraid that the mouse would run away and not come back, but it turned out that Eric was all she needed, she didn’t even get off him on the ground. Eric was the first creature Molly Bean saw when she opened her eyes. He fed her and was with her for days, so maybe the mouse thinks of him as her “mother”. The man has another pet – the dog Foster, which he took from the street 14 years ago. And this is another story of an unusual friendship: the dog never tried to harm the mouse and treats it as his own. Interaction with Molly Bean changed Eric’s attitude towards rodents. “Mice and rats also have feelings and emotions that they keep throughout their lives. These animals worry about everything. We have a lot to learn from them“, he says and adds: “Molly taught me that if even a little mouse deserves something so special, then we humans sure do. I think we are sorely lacking in this kind of unconditional love in today’s world„.
