A unique way of propagating roses: grow new plants from spent buds

Few people know about this method, because most people propagate roses from seedlings. But did you know that they can also be propagated effectively from buds? Why spend money on new rose bushes when you can easily propagate them yourself for free! Try this method with instructions from the Garden Easy YouTube channel. All rose lovers should learn about this simple method.

A unique way of propagating roses: grow new plants from spent buds

You will need:

  • sharp, disinfected garden shears;
  • blossomed rose buds of a beautiful spherical shape;
  • 1 clove of garlic;
  • a piece of banana.

What to do:

Take the garden shears. Cut spent rose buds from the bushes you want to propagate. Then cut the stem almost to the bud. Take a clove of garlic, peel it and cut it into circles. Place them in a bowl, cover with water. Add the rose buds to the garlic water. Leave it to stand for 15 minutes.

Now cut a longer slice of an unpeeled banana and place it in a pot with a suitable substrate. Insert the lower part of the rosebuds side by side into the banana. Now cover everything with substrate. And pour garlic water. After 20 days, new rose shoots will appear in the pot.

Now you can make new plants and transplant them individually into individual pots. Once the plants are strong, you can plant them in a suitable place in the garden. You can watch the entire procedure in the attached video. We wish you success!
