O roadshow from Academia Ponto Verde, “Recycling is cool”, arrives this week at four schools in the district of Faro, which will host the Sociedade Ponto Verde training session (). This is an initiative that educates and raises awareness among children and young people about packaging recycling and good environmental practices.
On November 14th, the roadshow takes packaging recycling to Escola Básica e Secundária da Bemposta, at 9:10 am, and to Escola Básica D. João II, Alvor, at 12 pm, in the municipality of Portimão.
On November 15th the action takes place at Escola Básica José Sobral, at 9:10 am, in Mexilhoeira Grande, in Portimão; and at Escola Básica Poeta Emiliano da Costa, at 12:00, in Estoi, Faro.
“For 45 minutes, 2nd and 3rd cycle students will have the opportunity to learn more about the correct separation and disposal of packaging at recycling points, and clarify any doubts they may still have about this recycling process, subsequently taking all the learning to family members and friends”, explains Academia Ponto Verde in a statement.
This academic year, SPV’s Academia Ponto Verde will have its biggest edition ever, reaching the north and south of the country and, for the first time, the Azores and Madeira.
The objective “is to reach 300 schools and cover around 13,500 students, also continuing to train teachers through teaching tools and the provision of teaching materials”.
Through roadshow “Recycling is good”, SPV raises awareness among students about the importance of always recycling their packaging, wherever they are, as this is a good practice to help the country achieve the environmental goals to which it is committed: By 2025, Portugal must be recycling at least 65% of all packaging placed on the market.
SPV was born in 2019 and is today one of the main programs aimed at the school community that promotes packaging recycling and Environmental Education in Portugal.
