Candidate for president of the Federal District, criminal lawyer Cleber Lopes compared the entity’s card delivery ceremony held in March to , which sold products at prices well below market prices.
Lopes has already defended the governor of the Federal District, (MDB), and federal deputy Chiquinho Brazão (no party), from the councilor (PSOL).
The Acari Fair, nicknamed “robatudo”, was closed by the mayor (PSD) in January this year. The place was sought after by anyone who had something to sell and even had something to sell.
In March this year, the ceremony to hand over the Order’s cards was attended by the former minister of the (Superior Court of Justice). At the ceremony, the president of OAB-DF, Délio Lins e Silva Júnior, said that his father commissioned a gospel rapper to write lyrics in honor of Calmon, and played at the event. The song’s lyrics praised the lawyer’s career.
In the debate for the OAB-DF elections held last Friday (8), Cleber Lopes, when citing his proposals for young lawyers, criticized the current management and said that one of his objectives was to teach youth “to respect the liturgy.”
“Our young lawyers are losing the liturgy, do you know why? Because the current management has transformed the delivery of portfolios into an Acari Fair”, he said. “The wallet delivery turned into a mess. These days I went to a wallet delivery, surprise you, gentlemen, the current management played a rap song during the management… Eliana’s rap, in the presence of Minister Eliana Calmon, from the STJ. “
When contacted by the Panel this Monday (11), Cleber Lopes stated that he has “great respect for rap, as for all cultural manifestations.”
“I’m very sorry that we are validating what everyone repudiates, which is cutting speeches to impress and influence elections,” he said. “What I said is that in the card handover session for new lawyers, we must preserve the solemnity of the event, nothing more than that.”
In a statement, the OAB-DF informed that it “maintains its institutional rite, including the playing of the National Anthem and other formalities in its ceremonies, but warmly welcomes spontaneous popular demonstrations, especially in such a significant event for the young legal profession.”
“We strongly repudiate any type of discrimination and prejudice against cultural manifestations.”
