Although it has not yet obtained enough signatures to begin processing, the Proposed Amendment to the Constitution (PEC) authored by the federal deputy Erika Hilton (PSOL-SP), is already having repercussions among his peers in the Chamber of Deputies.
The proposal did not include a post on social media that was elected councilor for Rio de Janeiro (RJ) precisely preaching the end of the 6×1 journey. Rick Azevedo obtained more than 29 thousand votes, and the movement he created, VAT (Life Beyond Work Movement), already has more than 1.4 million signatures.
The idea was taken up by deputy Erika Hilton, who is now seeking the signature of 171 of the 513 federal deputies so that it can be registered and begin processing.

After six months, she got around 90 – many of these signatures gained in the last few days after the repercussion on social media that the issue had.
Demonstrations for and against
One of those who signed in favor of the proposal was Guilherme Boulos (PSOL-SP). Without mentioning the date, he says he signed it and states that this is a global agenda.
Among those who have already publicly spoken out against it is Amon Mendel (Citizenship-AM). In addition to saying that there is already a proposal to reduce working hours for 2019 – which has not progressed – Mendel states that this will harm the economy.

Duarte Juniorfrom PSB do Maranhão, signed the text last Friday (8). According to him, he did not do it before due to “the large volume of work”.
Several deputies are being pressured on their social networks to sign the text. One of them is Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG)who expressed his defense of the continuity of the 6×1 system through an Instagram story. After his positioning, he received several comments asking for his signature.
Those who also came out in favor of the PEC were Dandara Tonantzin (PT-MG). She said she signed the text in May this year, and, last Friday, she made a new post about it.

The Life Beyond Work Movement (VAT), started by tiktoker and councilor elected by PSOL-RJ, Rick Azevedo, aims to abolish the 6×1 work schedule, provided for in the CLT.
The proposal reflects discussions that are already taking place around the world for more flexible work models, seeking better quality of life and respect for workers’ free time, according to its supporters.
The movement criticizes the 6×1 workday for causing exhaustion and affecting the health and well-being of workers, proposing a 4×3 workday without a salary reduction.

To date, deputy Erika Hilton has obtained around 90 of the 171 signatures required from federal deputies for the PEC to be processed.
The lack of sufficient signatures prevents the discussion on the proposal in Congress from progressing.
