The legend of the Slovak music scene Richard Müller (63) comes with a unique album Duets. On the exceptional album, fans will find 17 duets with sixteen performerswith Hana Hegerová, Milan Lasic, Iva Bittová, Katarína Knechtová, Tereza Kerndlová, Emma Smetana, Sima Martausová, Silvia Sliva, Majko Spirit or Fragile. There are two completely new songs – duets with rapper Lyrik and Dara Rollins. PR manager Nora Krchňáková informed TASR about it.
Singer, composer and lyricist Richard Müller has been on the music scene for 40 years. He started his career in 1984 and has been successfully creating, recording and performing since then. Now he is releasing a balance album, Duety.
“It’s a collection of my duets that I’ve recorded throughout my career. It starts with a song I recorded in 1988 and ends with songs from 2024. When I came up with this project, I couldn’t imagine how all the songs would work together, it was a risk. I am very satisfied with the result, I like this selection, all the songs fit together nicely,” describes the creation of the album by the singer.
In addition to the well-known duets, he also included two completely new songs on the album. The first novelty is a duet with rapper Lyrik Tlaková niž 2. The last song on the album and the second novelty is remake of the song Kač zametú, originally sung by Marika Gombitová and Janko Lehotský. Now it combines the voices of Richard Müller and Dara Rolins. A new clip was also created for the news, in which Dominika Call and Tomy Kotty starred. The camera was handled by Adam Lapšanský and Pierre Lexis, who also directed the clip.
“Dara and I know each other, we are colleagues from the industry, and I approached her remotely because she was away. But when I wrote to her asking if we would sing together the song When they sweep, I got an immediate answer that she really likes this song and that she knows it well. She recorded it in Prague and sent the recording to Creative Music House to Peter Graus. I subsequently sang the song in Bratislava, so we didn’t even meet,” said Richard Müller.
However, after the release of the album, there was an unexpected mistake that Müller had to “iron out”. The name Dara Rollins was spelled with two L’s.
“My great colleague Dara Rolins also sings with me on the double album, and we managed to do a rather unpleasant bit in the quotes. We wrote it with two L’s and she informed us that ‘guys, so what should it be when I’m one L’. So in that case, I think I’m very sorry and I probably thought that if I’m two L, then everyone around will be two L. So Darinka, I’m sorry.” stated in a video on .
