The Agricultural Payments Agency (PPA) has already paid out more than half of the advances on support for farmers. Out of the total amount of almost 300 million euros, Slovak farmers already have more than 167 million euros in their accounts. On Tuesday, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the SR Richard Takáč (Smer-SD) informed about this.
“Not even ten days have passed since the beginning of the advance payment of direct payments, and Slovak farmers have more than 167 million euros in their accounts. We declared that advances in the amount of almost We will pay 300 million at the beginning of November. We complied, we have been paying them since November 4, and today, not even ten days after the beginning, more than half of the amount is actually in the accounts of farmers,” said Takáč.
Support recipients do not have to take any action to obtain an advance, the amount is calculated and sent to them automatically based on the rates set by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic. In Campaign 2024, PPA records 14,469 relevant applications in the amount of almost 600 million euros after the administrative checks carried out so far.
The maximum amount of advances is 70% for the first pillar and 75% for the second pillar. For the first time in history, farmers who have control will also receive advances. Advance payments do not apply to interventions for which administrative actions have not yet been completed.
