Gordon Ramsay is thankful to be alive. He credits not only the doctors, nurses and staff at Connecticut Hospital, but also the helmet, which he says saved his life.
Over Father’s Day weekend, a celebrity chef shared a terrifying story on social media. Even though it had been several days since the accident, Ramsay was still shaken.
“I had a very bad accident while riding my bike in Connecticut this week,” he reported. “I feel fine, no broken bones or major injuries, but I have bruises and I look like a purple potato.”
Ramsay, who is a keen cyclist, explained the importance of wearing a helmet, no matter how short the journey. Although helmets are quite expensive, they are really important.
“I’m lucky to be standing here. Everything hurts me. It’s been a brutal week,” Ramsay said, lifting his shirt to reveal a massive bruise.
The “Hell’s Kitchen” star also posted photos before and after the accident.
We’re glad Gordon Ramsay is doing well. Seeing his bruises and the marks on his helmet can reinforce the importance of always wearing a helmet!
