Sporting’s new coach has to “give it time, but at the same time emphasize his personality, taking advantage of the heavy but very positive legacy left by Ruben Amorim”, considers SIC commentator João Rosado.
Sporting had to change its season plans, bringing forward João Pereira’s arrival to the first team. The new coach of the ‘lions’ receives a legacy as heavy as it is positive, left by Ruben Amorim, who goes to Manchester United.
In Alvalade, João Pereira takes over a team that absolutely leads the Portuguese league, with 11 wins in 11 games, and has the objective of winning the second championship.
“João Pereira knows the size of the challenge. Sporting is the current champion, one of the giants of Portuguese football and has a permanent requirement. Obviously, the under-23s and the B team also have great demands, but it has nothing to do with the main team”, ponders João Rosado.
For the SIC commentator, what the new coach has to do is “give it time, but simultaneously emphasize his personality, taking advantage of the heavy but very positive legacy left by Ruben Amorim”.
. “It is a pride, a privilege and an honor to be presented as Sporting’s coach”, said the new commander.
