One of the reasons is, of course, the large temperature difference on both sides of the glass, but also the high air humidity in the rooms. Steam on the windows most often appears at night. Unfortunately, moisture condenses on the windows and then flows onto the windowsill or into the seals, which often leads to the formation of mold around the windows. Therefore, when you notice steamy windows in your home, react immediately. Of course, dry them carefully first with a cotton cloth. Then place a bowl filled with table salt or cat litter on the windowsill. These two products act as moisture absorbers, so your windows will no longer fog up. It is best to place the bowl at night, because this is when the windows are most susceptible to fogging, and it will keep them dry.
