The election to decide who will be the new member of the Brazilian Academy of Letters (ABL) after the death of Antonio Cicero takes place on December 11th. They are 15 candidates entered into the competition to become an immortal.
Antonio Cicero in the last week of October, at 79 years old. The writer had Alzheimer’s and underwent the assisted death procedure in Switzerland.
Cicero was a Brazilian composer, poet, literary critic, philosopher and writer. Brother of singer Marina Lima, he was responsible for, among some of his sister’s most famous songs, such as “To France” e “Fullgas“.
When he died, he vacated Chair No. 27 of the . Among the candidates competing for the position, writer Edgard Telles Ribeiro stands out, who is also competing for this year’s Jabuti Prize in the literary novel category with “Jogo de Armar”.
The list of entrants was released by ABL at the beginning of November.
