Favorite to preside over the Chamber in 2025, deputy says he is not “for or against” the text and debate needs to listen to employers

The federal deputy (Republicanos-PB), considered the favorite to preside over the Chamber from 2025, said this Tuesday (November 12, 2024) that the discussion about the end of the 6×1 journey o “worries a lot”.

Motta declared that “not for or against” of the PEC (Proposed Amendment to the Constitution) with the measure, but the debate also needs to hear “who employs”.

“A real movement was created on social media in favor of the PEC. It is a topic that we have and will discuss, but not listening to just one side. We also have to listen to those who employ. We have to listen to both sides, so that from then on, we don’t have an agenda that could be harmful to the country tomorrow”declared the candidate at a meeting of the FPE (Parliamentary Entrepreneurship Front).

The Federal Constitution allows working hours of up to 8 hours a day, that is, 44 hours a week.

The project aims to reduce this limit to 36 hours per week, maintaining the daily ceiling of 8 hours.

If the text obtains the necessary signatures, it must be approved in 2 rounds of voting in the Chamber, with the support of at least 308 deputies.
