Mozambique: opposition announces new wave of demonstrations after elections

A new wave of demonstrations begins this Wednesday, in Mozambique, with the opposition guaranteeing that there will be three days of general strike.

The announcement was made by presidential candidate Venâncio Moonlaneemlive, on social media.

The opposition candidate expects a total shutdown of the country’s economy and guarantees that he will not give up until the electoral truth is restored.

“The people are tired and the people want an answer (…) We don’t want to carry out a coup d’état. We want to put pressure on the Government. We want to put pressure on the electoral bodies. We want to put pressure on the justice institutions to restore the truth electoral.”

Instead of spreading across the country, this time the demonstrations will be concentrated in three main points: in the ports, at the borders and in the eleven provincial capitals
