Excitement has been growing for the next film “Wicked”, opening on November 22nd and inspired by the popular Broadway musical. Meanwhile, the toy giant Mattel launched a line of dolls based on characters from the film, including Glinda and Elphaba.
The dolls, priced between 25 and 40 dollars, are aimed at young fans and collectors. However, a packaging error launched a controversy.
Instead of linking to the official Wicked movie website, “wickedmovie.com”the packaging misdirects “wicked.com”, a pornographic website. This error was quickly detected, giving rise to criticism and concerns from parents.
