The prosecutor responsible for the case highlighted that the PCS Saleme laboratory tried to cut costs, which compromised the quality of the exams. Despite knowing the inadequacy of the procedures, those involved continued to carry out the tests.
Six individuals associated with the laboratory were reported and had their arrests ordered. They face serious charges, including serious bodily injury, criminal association, ideological falsehood and induction into error. The request for preventive detention was made to ensure that investigations proceed without interference, highlighting the negligence shown in relation to the health of patients. The investigations point to irresponsible conduct on the part of those involved, who prioritized cost reduction to the detriment of patient safety.
