WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Data provider Decision Desk HQ projected on Monday (11) that President-elect Donald Trump’s Republican Party won a majority in the United States House of Representatives, indicating that Republicans will have control in both Houses of the US Congress.
Edison Research has not yet projected House control. She projected that Republicans will have at least 215 seats, and Democrats will have at least 206. Election winners for 14 seats have not yet been projected by Edison Research. To have a majority in the Chamber, 218 seats are needed.

Republicans had already secured control of the U.S. Senate with at least 52 to 46, Edison Research projected.
During his first presidential term, from 2017 to 2021, Trump’s greatest achievement was the sweeping tax cuts that are set to expire next year.
This legislation and Democratic President Joe Biden’s $1 trillion infrastructure law were passed during periods when governing parties controlled both Houses of Congress.

In contrast, in the last two years of government with a divided Congress, Biden has had little success in passing legislation and Congress has struggled to perform its most basic function of providing the money needed to keep the government open.
