Value is more than 7 times higher than that reported in the same period last year; Accumulated profit for the year is R$8.1 billion
The (Companhia de Saneamento Básico do Estado de São Paulo) reported this Monday (11.Nov.2024) a profit of R$6.1 billion in the 3rd quarter of 2024. The value is more than 7 times that recorded in the same period from last year. Here is the balance sheet (PDF – 8 MB).
Year to date, the sanitation company records a profit of R$8.1 billion, driven by the good performance in the 3rd quarter. In the first 9 months of 2023, the company had a profit of R$2.3 billion.
Adjusted Ebitda (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) in the quarter was R$10.6 billion, an increase of more than 4 times compared to the index for the penultimate quarter of 2023, when the company reported an adjusted Ebitda of R$ $2.4 billion.
Sabesp’s net operating revenue was R$14.9 billion in the 3rd quarter. This is an increase of R$8.5 billion compared to the revenues reported in the 3rd quarter of 2023. In the 2024 consolidated, the sanitation company records a revenue volume of R$28.3 billion.
This is Sabesp’s first balance sheet with results attributable to the company’s new management. The sanitation company was the main auction of the year and had its share of the State sliced and gave way to a new reference shareholder in charge, the .
Equatorial paid R$6.9 billion to become the new Sabesp. It will not have controlling interest, but will be responsible for management. The São Paulo government will remain a partner in the company, with 18.3% of the shares. Before privatization, the government of São Paulo owned 50.3% of the company’s shares.
