The National Executive released this Tuesday (12) a note in which it criticizes and states that this would represent the ban on the country’s reconstruction program elected at the polls in 2022 and the resumption of the agenda of the defeated sectors.

In the document, the party states that, in recent weeks, pressure on the government has increased, with the defense of themes such as linking social benefits and benefits to economic growth.

For the party, cutting social spending could plunge the country into recession, by reducing family consumption and increasing poverty and inequality, in addition to undermining popular support for the Lula government, “paving the way for the far right’s return to power .”

“For this reason, as part of the victorious coalition in the last presidential election, PSOL rejects any measure that foresees cuts in rights”, writes the party.

PSOL says that this must be achieved by increasing revenue, not by cutting expenses.

“As our bench has defended, this happens with measures such as the review of tax exemptions, the conclusion of the second stage of the tax reform, the taxation of large fortunes, the fight against super salaries, as well as the reduction in the interest rate, which drains resources to maintain financial gains”, indicates the party, which concludes by saying that it will fight so that the “program elected at the polls is protected from any speculative attack.”
