US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will hold talks in Brussels on Tuesday and Wednesday on support for Ukraine, which is resisting the Russian invasion. He will meet with his counterparts from the North Atlantic Alliance and the European Union. The US Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed about his trip to Brussels, writes TASR according to the Reuters agency.

It will be his first foreign visit since November 5, when Republican Donald Trump won the US presidential election. Officials of the current administration of President Joe Biden say that Washington will provide Ukraine with all the promised aid even before Trump takes office.

Increase in aid

“We are working hard to put Ukraine in the strongest possible position, both by increasing aid between now and the end of the administration, and by coordinating with partners around the world to ensure they are ready to respond in the event of any disruption,” the unnamed person said. a US official quoted by Reuters.

According to him, this includes Blinken’s meetings with allies in Europe, but also from, for example, South Korea, which could play a key role given its concerns about the deepening partnership between Russia and North Korea (DPRK).

Trump insists that he could end the war in Ukraine within “one day”, perhaps even before taking office. The Republican already criticized the extent of American support for Kiev during the election campaign.

After Brussels, Blinken will visit Peru, where he will take part in the annual summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) countries, and Brazil, where a meeting of leaders within the G7 group awaits him, the ministry said in a statement.
