A 69-year-old man was arrested by for the alleged commission of three fire crimes and several other crimes against his ex-partner, such as coercion and persecution, in Campo Maior, it was announced this Wednesday.
In a statement, the PJ explained that the man was arrested on Tuesday in Campo Maior, in the district of Portalegre, through the Évora Local Criminal Investigation Unit.
According to the criminal investigation police, there are “strong suspicions against the individual of three crimes of arson, a crime of coercion, a crime of stalking, a crime of breach of private life and a crime of illicit recordings”.
“Futile reasons and jealousy”
The acts of which he is suspected “targeted his 41-year-old ex-partner”, and were said to have been “carried out from the end of July to mid-September of this year”.
They were “originated by futile reasons and jealousy”, assured the Judiciary.
The arrest, which had the collaboration of the Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE), also allowed the seizure of “around 13,650 liters of cooking oil and olive oil suspected of fraud and adulteration by the attacker”.
The PJ also indicated that the detainee will be present today for the first judicial interrogation, at the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action (DIAP) of Elvas, district of Portalegre, with a view to applying the appropriate coercive measure.
