The topic is being debated in the Chamber of Deputies, where parliamentarians are collecting signatures to present a Proposed Amendment to the Constitution (PEC) with the aim of changing the scale of work in Brazil. .
The parliamentarian highlighted his personal and family experience with this scale, arguing that it harms workers’ quality of life and prevents them from enjoying moments with their families.

“I saw my father, who died this year, at the age of 70, doing the 7×0 scale. It always worked, it wasn’t even 6×0, it was 7×0. And do you know what happened? My father, whenever he got home, would go to bed and wake up the next day to work. My father didn’t go to football games when I played football. My father didn’t go to the performances I gave when I was a singer; never went. My father never stopped a day so he could teach me how to study. Do you know why? He didn’t do it, it’s not because he didn’t want to, no. It’s because he didn’t have time; It’s because he’s always worked”, reported the senator.
Cleitinho also mentioned that, despite the pension and labor reforms already approved by the National Congress, there is a lack of a measure that really benefits workers. He advocated a balance between the interests of business owners and employees.
“And don’t fall for this saying that the country is broken. I never believed the country was broken. The country has never been broke. Before I understood myself as a person, since I understood myself as a person, this country has always been robbed”, he stated.

“Guys, this country has always been robbed and is still being robbed today! If this country has not been broken to date, it will not be a scale – reducing it to 5×2 – that will end this country, people! Let’s be clear here: let’s do this together, let’s work to value both the entrepreneur and the worker! This is balance, the scales have to be equal, not even the businessman is ‘evil’, much less the worker is a slave”, he added.
The senator concluded his speech by asking Congress to discuss concrete measures to improve working conditions in the country and criticized the political class for not acting in favor of workers.
