Bolsonaro senator Cleitinho Azevedo (-MG) published a video on his social networks this Tuesday (12) in which he defends the end of the 6×1 scale and criticizes the working hours of Brazilian politicians.

The debate about the end of the work model in which paid rest occurs only on one day of the week has been going on for the last few days.

The deputy (-SP) seeks to gather signatures on a PEC (Proposed Amendment to the Constitution) for the adoption of a 36-hour week, divided into four days.

In the video recorded in the Senate plenary, Cleitinho appears with a poster in which he compares the working days and salaries received by the “worker” and by politicians.

He uses as references the minimum wage (R$1,412) and the senator’s remuneration that was in force until January this year (R$41,650) – today, it is R$44,000.

“We have to put an end to this 6 to 1 scale. They are questioning the text that is in the Chamber [dos Deputados]. So we have to change this text, which ends this scale, but also reduces the businessman’s tax”, stated the senator.

Criticism of the political class is one of the hallmarks of Cleitinho’s brief career, which began when he left Minas, in 2016, and was the target of criticism from opponents, who consider him populist.

Also this Tuesday, Cleitinho recorded a video alongside federal deputy Euclydes Pettersen, president of the Minas Gerais Republican Party, who committed to signing Hilton’s PEC.

The senator’s position in relation to the proposal goes against the opinion of one of his allies in the state, the federal deputy (PL-MG). This year, the two were together with former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) on the platform of Bruno Engler (PL), candidate defeated in the election of . They are also on the list of candidates to run for state governor in 2026.

In a video also published on social media this week, the federal deputy said he was against the current text of the PEC.

“PSOL people want the imposition of a 4×3 scale. Basically, you work 4 days and rest for 3. Be careful with these populist measures, because soon you will be doing a 0 for 0 scale, working zero days and also earning zero reais” , said Nikolas.
