In an interview with CNN Moneythis Tuesday (12), the Secretary of Investment Partnerships of São Paulo, Rafael Benini, announced that almost R$340 billion had already been invested in infrastructure.
According to the secretary, the goal at the beginning of the government was to reach R$400 billion in contracted investment.
“Our goal is these R$400 billion in contracted investments and leaving as many projects as possible so that this can continue,” said Benini.
Benini also highlighted that governor Tarcísio de Freitas has already “got excited and promised R$500 billion, but now these are the most difficult projects”.
According to the secretary, however, a challenge is the “absence of obvious players” in the concessions of some projects.
“There are projects that we cannot find the most obvious players, like highways, that we have well-structured concessions and we know who to talk to and what to talk about”, added the secretary.
Benini mentioned that in the case of coastal crossings, for example, heavy investment is necessary and there is no “player in Brazil with this size and capacity”, so it is necessary to look for interested parties outside the country.
When mentioning the projects that should be scheduled for 2026, Benini said that new sections of highways are already being studied.
“The idea is not to stop, it is to carry out all the projects that we have in the portfolio, leave projects for the beginning of 2027 and also have an auction in 2028”, he added.
