Favorite for the presidency of the Chamber of Deputies, the federal deputy Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB) mentioned the defense of cutting public spending as the objective of his administration.
The statement took place during lunch with the Parliamentary Entrepreneurship Front (FPE), this Tuesday (12), in Brasília (DF).
“It is with this objective that we put our name forward to be president of the Chamber of Deputies. So that this House continues to be the House that defends fiscal balance, that defends spending cuts, that defends responsibility for expenses and the public budget”, stated the parliamentarian.

At the time, Motta also noted that Brazil is “radicalized” and critically cited what he called “narratives of extremes”.
“Brazil, unfortunately, today, is politically radicalized, suffering severe consequences from an electoral process that often prevents us from dialoguing on important issues that deal with the real Brazil, so that we are often trapped in narratives of extremes, which do not allow us to build anything purposeful”, said the deputy.

“We cannot let this environment make the functioning of the House and what the Chamber has to discuss unfeasible”, added Motta.
The candidate also appealed to parliamentarians to leave “electoral flags aside” and “discuss what matters”, to focus on attracting investments.
