From time to time, instead of plain water, it is worth watering the flower with conditioner. The best conditioner for monstera is one that contains valuable nutrients, i.e. nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and magnesium. In gardening stores you can buy special preparations that can be used to feed the plant. However, if we want to prepare homemade fertilizer for Monstera, we can use banana peel, which will serve as a source of phosphorus and potassium. Just chop them up and bury them around the monstera. As they decompose, they will release potassium and other micronutrients that support overall plant health. Another homemade fertilizer that will support the growth of monstera can be made using Epsom salt.

Epsom salt is available at any pharmacy. It contains a lot of magnesium, which will support the proper development of monstera. It is enough to dissolve one teaspoon (tea) of salt in one liter of water. We water the monstera with this mixture once a month. The magnesium contained in the preparation improves plant vitality and photosynthesis. To enjoy a healthy plant, you should not overwater your monstera. In summer it is enough to water it once a week, in winter once every two weeks. Excessive watering causes the leaves to turn yellow and brown. However, Monstera likes high air humidity. Therefore, it is good to sprinkle it with soft water twice a week. From time to time you also need to gently wipe the dust off the leaves. The place where the monstera is placed is also important. The flower does not like direct sunlight. On the other hand, when there is too little sun, it does not grow and withers. It is also sensitive to drafts, so do not place the pot next to an open window. The optimal temperature for monstera is 23 degrees C in summer and 15 degrees C in winter. As for the soil, monstera grows best in soil with peat added. The substrate must be permeable. It is worth lining the pot with a bit of expanded clay.
