Exemption from IMT, stamp duty and fees is “in full operation”, says minister. A new National Youth Plan is coming.

This Monday morning, the Minister of Youth and Modernization, Margarida Balseiro announced in Parliament the numbers resulting from the implementation of the IMT exemption measure.

The minister also assured that the public guarantee program for housing credit for the purchase of the first home has already registered membership of 17 banking institutions.

The minister also highlighted the importance of Port 65 programand highlighted the simplification that the portal has made: young people now only have to present three paychecks, instead of the six that were required.

By combining IRS Jovem, IMT, student accommodation or mental health responses, the Government allocated approximately R$629 million for young people. According to , the exclusion of maximum rent and the end of a previous lease contract are other changes made to the program.

The minister also gave an example to show the financial impact of the IR exemption for a young person: whoever earns R$1,000 per month, after five years you save around 3,828 euros. “This young man, in 10 years, which is the proposal in the State budget, will save 7,274 euros”, added the minister.

“Urgent and relevant” health checks

Margarida Balseiro Lopes also mentioned the health checks granted by the government: they were guaranteed until November 2,355 psychologist checks and 1,019 nutritionist checksmostly women from Lisbon and Porto.

In relation to the psychologist check, Margarida Balseiro Lopes said that 3,690 checks were requested, with 2,355 being awarded, while in relation to the nutritionist check, 2,781 were requested and 1,019 were awarded.

According to data presented by the minister, in 75% of cases it is girls who ask for a psychologist checkadding that more than 50% of the checks requested were in Porto and Lisbon, followed by Coimbra, Braga and Aveiro, “with around 250 to 400 requests each”.

“Most of these requests come from undergraduate studentsbut there are also fewer requests for master’s degrees or integrated master’s students”, said the minister. He added that the “nutritionist check numbers are almost the same”, without specifying.

“Since September 30th, Higher Education students have had access, through the gov.br portal, to more than 100 thousand psychology consultations and more than 50 thousand nutrition consultations per year. In the first month alone, we have already received more than 6,500 requests, which reflects the urgency and relevance of this measure”, revealed the governor.

According to the , the minister finally guaranteed that this type of measures will continue, also announcing that the third National Youth Plan will be launchedeven though without “endless measures”and prioritizing some, evaluating their impact more easily.
