The French rock group announced Tuesday on Instagram that it wanted to pay tribute to the deceased people, close to their fans. The photos will form a slideshow which will be broadcast during the performance of the song on stage Annabelle Lee.

Sincere tribute or misplaced staging? The French pop rock group announced that their song Annabelle Lee will be illustrated by photos of deceased people, sent in advance by fans to an email address. The title, from Indochine’s latest album, released last September, openly evokes death.

« You have lost someone close to you (parent, friend, etc.), you would like to pay tribute to them. We would also like to spare a thought for them during the tour »explains the group on their social networks. The press release specifies that the photos sent must only show the deceased. The photos will then be broadcast during the group’s tour, during the performance of the title Annabelle Lee.

In a newspaper interview, singer Nicola Sirkis explains the message behind this song inspired by a poem by Edgar Poe: « We all, at our ages, are faced with the disappearance of our parents, and people around us start to get really sick. We realize that this life is not eternal, even though we were for a long time, with rock, in a sort of bath, like eternal adolescents. » In its latest album with electro-reggae and symphonic sounds, Indochine celebrates its reunion with British sound engineer Mark “Spike” Stent, now recognized for his collaborations with Beyoncé, Madonna and Coldplay.

With their Arena Tour, Indochine will be on stage 34 times throughout France from January 31, 2025. The group will stop in all major cities in France, in Brussels on April 5 and Lausanne on May 16, to end on June 20 and 21 at the Accor Arena in Paris.
