The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Ricardo Lewandowski, ruled out federalizing the case of the execution of businessman Antônio Vinicius Lopes Gritzbach, killed by rifle shots outside Guarulhos International Airport (SP), last Friday (8).
Linked to the First Command of the Capital (PCC), Gritzbach was sworn to death by the faction for allegedly having ordered the murder of drug dealer Anselmo Becheli Santa Fausta, known as Cara Preta, and Antônio Corona Neto, Sem Sangue, Anselmo’s driver, in December 2021.
In addition to the deaths of Cara Preta and Sem Sangue, Gritzbach was accused by the faction of having embezzled R$100 million from the organization. The businessman also had a plea bargain agreement with the São Paulo Public Ministry (MP-SP) against members of the PCC.
“At first, there is no idea of federalizing this case. It turns out that a defendant collaborated with the Public Ministry of São Paulo and, therefore, in principle, the São Paulo Civil Police are responsible for investigating this case”, the minister told journalists, this Tuesday (12).
“It was noticed that there was also interference in the operations at São Paulo International Airport, and therefore this awakens the competence of the Federal Police, which made itself available to the São Paulo authorities and opened a parallel investigation with regard to its competence , which is precisely the investigation of issues that interfere with the operation of the airport”, he added.
After ruling out the federalization of the case, the Minister of Justice classified the execution of the whistleblower as an “unprecedented crime” and said that the case deserves “a rigorous investigation and a very energetic repression”.
