The Social Security Institute (ISS) warned this Tuesday of a new attempted SMS fraud which is circulating about an alleged debt settlement request to avoid foreclosure.
“Alert for attempted fraud received via SMS”, says a note this Tuesday on the Social Security Institute website.
The institute led by Octávio Félix de Oliveira states that the following text appears in the fraudulent message: “You have Social Security debts subject to collection from 10/06/2024, pay today and avoid foreclosure Ent: 11249 Ref: 550244103 Value : 524.95 Eur”.
“These messages are fraudulent and do not come from Social Securityallowing its authors to illegitimately obtain amounts arising from alleged debts to Social Security”, warns the organization.
Social Security also reminds us that “the debt situation must always be confirmed with the Social Security services, through the Social Security Line 210 545 400 or 300 502 502, working days, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm”.
