Furthermore, the Ukrainian air force managed to intercept 2 ballistic missiles and 37 drones across the country, without recording any fatalities or significant damage in Kiev. Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian presidential office, stated on Telegram that “Putin is attacking Kiev with missiles”. Meanwhile, debris from the attacks fell outside the city, injuring a 48-year-old man and setting fire to a warehouse, according to the head of the Kiev region administration.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that a drone was still flying over the city center on Wednesday morning. Therefore, the local administration advised the population to remain in shelters due to the explosions and the work of air defense forces.

Around 100 people, including children and the elderly, sought shelter at the Universitet metro station. Some residents, in turn, complained about the lack of sleep caused by occasional drone attacks, which activated air raid alerts in the city.

It is worth noting that, at the beginning of the year, Russia had already attacked Ukrainian energy facilities, causing blackouts. Although the situation has improved, Ukrainian authorities still have new attacks on the power grid. Andrii Kovalenko, a senior official at the National Security and Defense Council, warned of the possibility of a “massive” attack by Russia, which could accumulate cruise missiles.
