The commentator of CNN José Eduardo Cardozo and criminal lawyer Armando de Mattos discussed, this Tuesday (12), in The Great Debate (Monday to Friday, at 11pm), where the president’s government is making mistakes.

The PT’s third administration had its lowest positive evaluation since May 2023, as announced this Tuesday.

The . 30.8% think the management is bad or terrible. For 32.1%, it is regular. They don’t know or didn’t answer, 1.6%.

The survey interviewed 2,002 people, between November 7th and 10th. The margin of error is plus or minus 2.2 percentage points. The confidence level is 95%.

For Cardozo, the evaluation is not bad, historically, for a government that is finishing its second year.

“Governments, in general, tend to have descending and ascending lines. Apart from atypical situations, governments end the second year in decline, rise in the third and tend to reach their peak in the fourth year”, says the commentator.

Still according to Cardozo, in the first year, the post-election period takes place, with the government’s actions still being very recent. In the second, it is when “the romance with the voter ends” and improvements are demanded. The assessment increases in the third and fourth year, with the delivery of achievements.

As for Mattos, the electorate is tired of the economic and tax policy adopted by the government.

“When a housewife enters the supermarket and she notices that the price of food has risen sharply, this causes a very negative reaction. Of course, every government has its peak and then stabilizes”, says Mattos.

“There are several facts. But the most important thing, I would say, is the economy. The economy is being this government’s Achilles heel”, continues the lawyer.
