At least 14 people have died in a bus accident in northern Pakistan.
A bus carrying 27 wedding guests plunged into the Indus River in Gilgit-Baltistan province, officials there said. TASR informs about it according to the reports of the Reuters and AP agencies.
Officials said in a statement that one woman was injured and the remaining 12 passengers were missing. According to Reuters, the cause of the accident was speeding and the driver losing control over the vehicle.
Local media reported that the bus was part of a wedding procession that was heading to the Čakval district.
In Pakistan, traffic accidents are frequent, due to poor infrastructure and non-compliance with traffic regulations and safety rules. In August, 34 people were killed and dozens injured in two separate bus accidents.
