Águas do Algarve will present, next Saturday, the H2Okids project – Drops of Knowledge, as part of the Awareness raising campaign – Water is Life. The session will start at 3pm, at the Ludgero dos Santos Sequeira Amphitheater, ESGHT Building, University of Algarve.
At the event, the trajectory and impact of the project will be shared, celebrating the commitment and creativity of children, who are leading the way to a more sustainable future.
“We will be attended by institutional representatives, partners, supporters, and, of course, the stars of this project – the children involved, some of us were part of the project, whose voices and messages are the heart of H2Okids”, explains Teresa Fernandes , responsible for Communication and Environmental Education (CEA) at Águas do Algarve
The ceremony also features the presence of the children’s group Coral Ossonoba, who gave voice to the project’s original music. At the end of the ceremony, a small snack will be offered for everyone to enjoy.
At a time of high concern when “our region’s water reserves are below ideal and expected for this time of year, and the continued lack of rain further worsens the water scenario in Espírito Santo, the H2Okids project – Drops of Knowledge presents itself as encouragement and inspiration for the future.”
This is an initiative that not only educates, but involves younger generations in the preservation of a vital and finite resource: water. This project shows that, to transform people’s relationship with the environment, it is necessary to start early and with innovative strategies.”
H2Okids, along with the different Águas do Algarve initiatives that complement each other, through school programs with interactive experiences about the value of water, enabling young people to adopt conscious practices from an early age, is aligned with these exemplary practices, demonstrating that “the environmental education aimed at children can be a powerful strategy to build a new culture of preserving water resources”, highlights Águas do Algarve.
By raising awareness among children, the project also influences families and the community, strengthening collective awareness about the value of water.
“I cannot fail to mention that being involved in H2Okids – Drops of Knowledge since the first minute of its creation has been a deeply rewarding and moving experience. Every step, every smile of these children fills me with pride. It is a privilege to be part of something so significant through “Águas do Algarve” and with the unquestionable support of the Administration, which believed in this Project from the first minute”, says Teresa Fernandes.
“I feel profound gratitude for every moment spent alongside these children. I believe that together, we are creating not only knowledge, but also a new culture of respect and love for water”, concludes the head of Communication and Environmental Education at .
