Benjamin Clementine is the first name announced for the Cooljazz Festival. The British musician performs on the 4th of July, in Cascais.

Benjamin Clementine’s heartfelt voice and virtuosity on the piano will once again be heard live next year, on national territory. The British musician performs on July 4th at Cooljazz. It will be the first show at the festival, in Cascais, but the 25th in Portugal.

During one of his visits to the country, in a conversation with SIC, he revealed this close relationship. A relationship that dates back to 2015when he played for the first time in Portugal. Year in which he received the for Best Albumin the United Kingdom and Ireland, for the debut album “At Least for Now”.

It was in France that he caught the attention of an agent. Behind were years of Homeless life and playing on the metro in the French capitalwhere he went at the age of 16 after his parents divorced.

Self-taught, the soul that imprints on what he composes, translates the influences of great names in jazz such as Nina Simone to classical music. At concerts, whatever the size of the space always intimate.
