The Human Rights, Minorities and Racial Equality Commission approved, this Wednesday (13), the bill that guarantees civil marriage between people of the same sex.
The text now goes to the CCJ (Constitution, Justice and Citizenship Commission) and, if approved, will be forwarded to the plenary. The union between people of the same sex was in 2011.
Bill 580/2007 was originally presented by the former deputy (1937-2009).
The proposal had already been analyzed by the Social Security, Childhood, Adolescence and Family Commission, in October 2023. The then rapporteur of the bill in the commission, federal deputy Pastor Eurico (PL-PE), rejected the original version and suggested a change in the Civil Code for the .
