A new explosion was recorded in Brasília in the early hours of this Thursday (14), causing apprehension among reporters from CNN which covered the developments of a previous incident involving explosive devices in the federal capital.
Journalist Luciana Amaral, who was at the scene, reported: “The ground here where I am shook during the explosion of this new bomb. We don’t know exactly what exploded, but the ground shook.”
“We are even next to a glass entrance, it also swayed like that, right? This explosion was strong, very strong”, she added.
Police sweep underway
Throughout the night, legislative police carried out one, using flashlights to inspect signs and other objects in the region. The agents even went up close to the treetops to check for possible threats in the vegetation.
The explosion occurred in the vicinity of annex 2 of the Chamber of Deputies, not far from the location where a , close to annex 4. Despite the intensity of the noise, no damage to other vehicles or people was reported.

Ongoing investigations
Authorities continue to investigate the incidents. A police report revealed that a security guard at the Federal Supreme Court witnessed when a man approached and began throwing explosive devices.
Preliminary information indicates that he also ran for councilor in a city in Santa Catarina.
Reporter Gabriela Prado, from CNNwho was at Palácio do Planalto, also confirmed having heard the noise of the explosion, although at a lower volume compared to previous incidents. The sweeps at Praça dos Três Poderes continue, with the Military Police still not having provided updates on the case.
