There is a suspicion that the individual may have circulated around Congress premises, but this information has not yet been confirmed by the Legislative Police Department (Depol). “They (members of the Chamber’s security) are looking for this information, they are looking to find out whether this suspicion is real or not. They are checking people’s entries, images,” said Sóstenes. “They are yet to confirm this information or not.”
The House plenary session has been suspended, and Congress is being evacuated. “Of course, security will carry out all the procedures. I don’t know if the bomb squad has already arrived, which will work together with security, with the legislative police, and they will certainly carry out all the necessary investigations and sweeps,” said Sóstenes. “In particular, it is confirmed that this person was here, which is suspicious”, he added. Sóstenes said that Chamber security informed him about what happened.
“What was said by security is that a car exploded in the courtyard of Annex IV, a person blew himself up, who died close to the STF, and a drone fell near the Chamber, which does not know what this drone has. , where he was from, if he was shot down. They still don’t have this precise information,” he declared. “These were the three serious episodes that happened, and they are investigating everything, and when I have all the information, if the person was admitted, because they still have the identity of the car owner, but they don’t know if the car owner It’s the same person who blew himself up. They don’t have that information yet. Apparently it is, but this information is not confirmed”, added the deputy.
