Federal deputy Jorge Goetten (Republicanos-SC) stated this Thursday (14) that the man identified as the author of the explosions near the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and Congress, on Wednesday night (13), sought him out earlier in the day. Chamber of Deputies.
According to information he received from investigators, Francisco Wanderley Luiz entered the building in the afternoon saying he would go to the parliamentarian’s office in Annex III, went through the metal detector search, but ended up only going to the bathroom in Annex IV.
“I heard that he accessed the Chamber yesterday and identified himself saying he was going to our office. But he wasn’t in our office yesterday. He had access to Annex IV and went to the bathroom. only. Our office is in Annex III,” said Goetten in an interview with G1.
Jorge Goetten confirmed that he previously met with Francisco in May 2023 in his own office, and that he seemed “emotionally shaken”.
“He talked a lot about the separation. But it was a conversation between two fellow countrymen who met, remembering the good times in their city of origin”, he stated, highlighting that he remembers the man being a “successful businessman”, owner of event venues and “always in tune with market trends ”.
The deputy also said that Francisco came to see him again in the Chamber in August of this year, but that he was only received by advisors. Federal Police investigation and a report from the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin) indicate that he had been in the Federal District since July, installed in a residence in the administrative region of Ceilândia, where explosives were found this Thursday morning (14).
Goetten also stated that he had known the man for 30 years and that there was no behavior that could indicate an intention to carry out an attack.
“I am awaiting the investigations to try to understand what makes a man like him commit an act like this, which I greatly regret. I’m sorry for losing a human being, a fellow countryman of ours, but I’m also sorry because it could affect other people,” he added.
Also at the residence where he was staying, Francisco left a message written on the bathroom mirror to one of the people arrested for involvement in the acts of January 8, 2023. “Débora Rodrigues, please don’t waste lipstick. This is to make women beautiful. Shit statue if you use TNT”, reported the message.
Débora Rodrigues is the hairdresser held in prison by order of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), for having scrawled the phrase “Perdeu Mané” on the statue “A Justiça”, in front of the Court building in Praça dos Três Poderes .
The message he left in the mirror is being used by the Federal Police (PF) to justify an alleged connection between Francisco’s actions and 8/1.
