When buying a new car there is one issue that always weighs in: the years of warranty. All new cars are required by law to have a three-year factory warranty, meaning they have protection offered by the car manufacturer. However, it is up to each manufacturer to decide whether or not they wish to offer additional years of warranty. There are car brands in Portugal that offer up to a decade of protection to their customers.

It is also important to highlight that the car warranty normally covers problems with the timing belt, the gearbox or even the radiator, as well as any anomaly related to components, such as alternators, batteries, ignition systems and even some elements of the engine systems. infotainment.

Generally, this manufacturer’s protection also covers problems with shock absorbers, springs or braking system components, as long as they are not wear components.

As for the number of years of warranty, three are mandatory, but there are brands in Portugal that extend protection to their customers. For example, Toyota offers a warranty of up to 10 years and a maximum of 180 thousand kilometers. Hyundai stands out for being the only brand in our country to offer a seven-year warranty, with no mileage limit.
