Why is rice useful for plants?
Rice contains many beneficial substances that support plant growth and overall improve their health. It is rich in starch, which will not only provide housemaids with a dose of energy, but also supports beneficial bacteria in the soil that help break down organic material in the soil into usable nutrients for plants. At the same time, rice contains B vitamins and potassium, phosphorus and nitrogen.
Potassium is a key element that contributes to the formation of a strong root system and also strengthens the immune system of plants. Thanks to this, it helps the plants to overcome possible stressful situations, such as a lack of water. Phosphorus supports the formation of flowers and fruits and is also necessary for the proper development of healthy roots. Nitrogen is then necessary for the formation of green parts of plants and supports overall growth.
Rice fertilizer is also effective in the fight against possible pests and diseases. The solution has a slightly alkaline pH, which favorably affects the soil in which the plants grow and also allows better absorption of the nutrients found in the soil.
How to make fertilizer
The preparation is very simple and quick. A cup of rice of any kind will suffice, which you pour into a bowl and cover with cold water. Mix the mixture well and let the rice soak for 15 to 30 minutes. After the specified time, drain the rice.
The rice water will serve as fertilizer and you can use the rice for cooking. Fertilizer can also be stored. Just pour it into a sealable container and it will stay in good condition for up to 5 days at room temperature. And how exactly to apply the fertilizer?
Dressing
One of the ways in which rice leachate can be used to support plants is a classic dressing. Pour it into a teapot and pour it into the soil for each flower.
Dew
The fertilizer can also be poured into a spray bottle and applied to the plants as a spray. It is always a good idea to spray all the leaves with rice water, both from the top and from the bottom.
Dipping
It is also possible to leave the maids soaked in rice liquor. Place the plant with the flower pot in a larger container, pour fertilizer to a height of 2 to 4 cm and leave it in the nutrient bath for at least 15 to 20 minutes. As soon as the soil is moist at the top, remove the plant, let it drain and then put it in its place. The plant will absorb nutrients through the roots and thus extract as many beneficial substances as possible. In addition, this method will ensure that there will be no spillage and thus pass on to possible rot.
A final tip
The best time to apply is early in the morning or later in the morning when plants absorb the most nutrients. Therefore, they get the most out of the rice fertilizer. Treat maids to this fertilizer at least once a week.
