Explosions were heard near the Supreme Federal Court of Brazil, in Brasília. A The area has been cordoned off and the police have already opened an investigation. The body found at the scene will belong to the suspect in the attack.
An explosion occurred in Square of the Three Powers e another one car in the parking lot located between the Supremo Tribunal Federal ea Chamber of Deputies.
o man found dead must be the perpetrator of the attack. It’s being identified as Francisco Wanderley Luiz, 59 years old, born in Santa Catarina. Television reveals that it was candidate for councilor in the municipality of Rio do Sul, affiliated with the Liberal Party. The suspect announced the attack on social media.
The Brazilian federal police admit that the Two explosions may have been caused by the same suspect.
A witness interviewed by the Brazilian media reported that a man allegedly passed by with a bag and threw two bombs at the statue of the Federal Supreme Court.

A Praça dos Três Poderes, in Brasília, brings together the seats of the Federal Supreme Court, the Chamber of Deputies and the Presidency. At the time of the explosions (around 7:30 pm local time), plenary sessions were taking place in the Chamber and Senate.
“At the end of this Wednesday’s STF session, two loud bangs were heard and the ministers were safely removed from the building. Os servers and employees from the headquarters building were removed as a precautionary measure“, said the Federal Supreme Court.

Reinforced security and explosives experts on the ground
According to Brazilian media, the area was isolated and on site are firefighters and military specializing in explosives. The Brazilian army has already activated the riot police, with between 200 and 250 soldiers ready to reinforce security in the area.
The Federal Attorney General’s Office referred to the incident as “attacks against the STF and the Chamber”.
In a statement, the Federal District Civil Police informs that it is already investigating the incident.
