The new Lions coach only has a level III coaching course and does not have the “necessary qualifications” for the role — he lacks UEFA Pro. ANTF will report you.

The National Association of Football Coaches (ANTF) will file a complaint about João Pereira, because he does not have the “necessary qualifications” for the role, the president of the class structure confirmed this Wednesday.

“There is a legal non-compliance, he is not qualified because he does not have the certification required to perform his duties, therefore, as has been usual in these cases, we will report the situation to the competent authorities”, said José Pereira, president of ANTF, in statements to Lusa agency.

José Pereira explains that the ANTF has filed complaints whenever a case is detected, such as happened to Rúben Amorim and with several other coaches.

“It wasn’t just with Ruben Amorim, it happened in several other cases. Just look at the punishment maps of the Disciplinary Council (CD) of the São Paulo Football Federation to realize that there are fines for coaches who are not qualified for the role”, he stressed.

The ANTF will now proceed with the complaint to the Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP) and the FPF CD.

“The LPFP delegates themselves must report the case, for example, be in the ‘flash interview’ or stand up to give instructions, so it involves a non-compliance with regulations”, he said.

João Pereira finished the III trainer course level and awaits certificateHowever, the last degree is still missing, UEFA Pro, which will allow him to guide I League teams.

Like this, João Pereira will appear on the game sheets as assistantas already happened in the ‘lions’ B team, which competes in League 3, with assistant Tiago Teixeira being formally appointed as head coach.

João Pereira, who commanded the Lions’ B team, is the new coach of Sporting’s main team, replacing Rúben Amorim, who played for Manchester United.

In addition to João Pereira, 40 years old, Tiago Teixeira, José Caldeira, António Pina, Hugo Tecelão, Tiago Ferreira and Luís Neto are part of the new technical team.
