Modern cars are equipped with special systems that allow you to quickly deal with the problem. This is where turning on the air conditioning comes in handy. However, it will definitely be better if we focus on prevention. Regardless of the car we have, we can prevent the windows from fogging up by using a simple trick with cat litter.
Just pour a little into a bag and leave it in the car. How to deal with foggy car windows
The reason for fogging of car windows is humidity and the large temperature difference between the inside of the car and its external surroundings. Rain and snow also contribute to moisture formation in the car. We carry water drops on shoes and clothes, and leave them on upholstery and windshield wipers. Later, the water evaporates and settles on the windows. Therefore, the easiest way to deal with fogged car windows is the lack of moisture. One of the most popular, temporary methods is to use air conditioning or warm air and open one window. However, it is better to get rid of moisture permanently by using cat litter, which absorbs liquids perfectly. Just pour sand into a cotton bag or sock and tie it tightly. We place such a homemade moisture absorber, for example, on the shelf next to the driver (near the gearbox), and when driving, behind the driver’s seat (otherwise it may move and fall under the brake or gas pedal). Moreover, in winter it is worth carrying a bag of gravel with you in the trunk. When we get stuck in snow or stand on ice, putting some dust under the wheels will make it easier to get out.
