Despite being removed by the board, Gabriel Barbosa was present at Maracanãthis Wednesday (13), in the match between Flamengo and Atlético-MG.
Wearing a retro club shirt, with the number 10, the striker went to the pitch before the ball rolled in the 33rd round of the Brazilian Championship.
Gabigol’s presence generated great expectations after the management’s decision to remove him from the match. The reason was the statement given by the player after , on Sunday (10), when he announced that he will leave the club at the end of his contract, on December 31, 2024.
The impasse between Gabigol and the current board has become clear in recent days. It is worth noting that the attacker lost his “10 shirt” after being caught wearing the Corinthians shirt, in May 2024.
The presence of the off-field striker was “ignored” by the generation of images and sound at Maracanã. In other words, the attacker was not shown on the stadium’s big screens tonight.
On the eve of the match against , Gabi stated that the decision to remove him from the match was “unilateral” and said that he would watch the game from the stands, but gave up on the idea, staying in his box.
