Neil Crossley (60) was preparing for a once-in-a-lifetime moment, but he forgot the most important part, he reports As Amy Totty’s father, 30, began walking confidently down the aisle to the strains of wedding music, he quickly realized he had forgotten the bride.
He was alerted to the awkward moment by one of the employees of the wedding venue, who quickly ran across the aisle after him to alert him that his daughter was missing. Neil had almost reached the altar when he turned in surprise to find Amy still waiting for him.
This blunder made everyone laugh and later even became part of his speech. The father and daughter made it on the second try and after a comical moment the groom was reduced to tears as a smiling Amy walked towards him.
“He thought he was told to go, when in fact he was told to wait there for me. It was perfectly timed because it made me, my husband and all our lovely friends and family laugh.” said the bride.
The touching moment was comic relief for Amy, who struggled to hold back her emotions as she prepared to meet her husband at the altar. “I especially appreciated it because I was trying so hard not to cry and he helped me get up. It was a special moment that none of us will forget.” added.
