An agricultural plane crashed this Thursday (14) in Fernandópolis, in the Northwest region of the State of when spraying sugar cane crops. The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) and the Civil Police are investigating the causes of the accident. The pilot, the only occupant of the aircraft, died at the scene, according to the Fire Department. He was identified as Rogério Guido, known as ‘Lelo’. According to information from the Fernandópolis Fire Department, the corporation was informed by rural workers in the region about the crash of a plane near a sugar cane factory, 20 km from the urban area. The team arrived at the scene and found the agricultural aircraft destroyed. The pilot was already lifeless.
The plane crashed into a swamp area and was destroyed. The pilot’s body was removed from the wreckage and sent to the Legal Medical Institute (IML). The Aviation Accident Investigation and Prevention Center (Cenipa) was notified by firefighters. The FAB reported that investigators from the Cenipa regional service, located in São Paulo, were called to carry out the initial action on the incident involving the aircraft registered PP-PLR, in Fernandópolis.
Rogério Guido was considered an experienced pilot. He left behind a wife and children. On its social network, Voando Baixo Aviação Agrícola, a community of agricultural pilots, mourned the death of ‘Lelo’. “Our most sincere condolences on the loss of Commander Rogério Guido. Today we say goodbye to an exemplary professional and a person who left a profound mark on the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him”, he posted, wishing comfort to his family and friends.
