Oi, in judicial recovery, announced this Thursday (14) that the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) approved a draft term that formalizes the transition of the Fixed Switched Telephone Service (STFC) from the concession regime to the authorization regime, according to a fact relevant to the market.
The decision was the last necessary approval for the migration of the STFC provision regime from the public to the private regime, said Oi, adding that, with the formalization of the new term, it will be possible to advance in the economic-financial rebalancing of services, in addition to accelerating the sale of real estate assets.
“The outcome of this stage is a fundamental pillar in the search for the company’s operational viability, with a view to overcoming its current economic-financial situation and the continuity of its activities”, stated the company in judicial recovery.
Oi said that the next step will consist of resuming the arbitration process in which the company seeks compensation for “historical imbalances in the concession”, with benefits for all its “stakeholders”.
Separately this Thursday, Oi also said that it received correspondence from Gestores Ashmore informing that funds under its umbrella received around 31.3 million shares in the company, reaching a stake of around 9.48% in the company.
