The president of the (Supreme Federal Court), Luís Roberto Barroso, praised this Thursday (14) the security of the court during the bomb attack on Wednesday night (13). One after throwing bombs at the site and causing an explosion in a car nearby.
“There was no security breach, on the contrary. The judicial police and security agents promptly intercepted the person,” he said. “Our judicial police officer was very brave, because even after the guy said he had explosives, he took the approach he was supposed to take.”
Barroso lamented the fact that fences will be placed again in front of the supreme court’s building. In February of this year, just over a year after the coup attacks of January 8, 2023, they had been removed in a symbolic act. The bars had been in place since 2016.
“It’s a shame that a terrorist act like this prevents the square from returning to the people as it should be,” said the minister. There is no deadline for the bars to be removed again.
