The biggest beneficiaries of the MP are the Ministry of Finance, which received R$600 million, and the Ministry of Integration and Regional Development, awarded R$578 million
The Senate approved on Wednesday (13.Nov.2024) the provisional measure that opens extraordinary credit of R$1.2 billion to several ministries due to the floods in Rio Grande do Sul (). The matter will be forwarded for promulgation.
The biggest beneficiaries of the MP are the Ministry of Finance, which received R$600 million to cover rural financing contracts through the FGO (Operations Guarantee Fund); and the Ministry of Integration and Regional Development, awarded R$578 million to ensure humanitarian assistance to the affected populations.
The Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services, which had to postpone the CNU (Unified National Public Tender) because of the climate tragedy, received R$46.7 million. The National Archives received R$14.7 million for the recovery of archival collections affected by the floods. The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Family Farming (R$ 13.38 million) and the Central Bank (844 thousand) were also assisted.
The resources directed to Rio Grande do Sul have no impact on the government’s fiscal target for 2024, but they do impact the nominal deficit, which takes into account the costs of public debt.
Under the rapporteurship of the deputy (PSB-RS), the MP was approved in the Chamber Plenary on Tuesday (Nov 12) and then forwarded to the Senate for consideration.
