Asked about the meeting, Donald Trump’s communications director declined to comment. Musk and the Iranian mission to the UN also did not provide further details about the meeting.
Musk, known for his eccentricity, has gained prominence over the past few weeks for appearing almost always alongside Donald Trump, who has already classified him as a “genius”. In response, Iran’s supreme leader banned any negotiations with the Trump administration. Iranian authorities also vowed to avenge the death of Qassim Suleimani. Federal authorities revealed in a court filing last week that Iran was involved in a plot to kill Trump before the election.
Furthermore, Trump has been a strong supporter of Israel, which has ongoing conflicts against Hamas and Hezbollah, Iran’s proxies.
